The long-lived desktop application of CSI Helsinki had to be updated to take up competition and become user-friendly. Modernization aimed at enhancing the user experience, primarily seeking to port the application from the desktop environment into web and mobile environments. CSI Helsinki further aimed at enhancing the design to align with the best practices of modern times and ensuring technological sustainability.
Challenge
The key challenges before the transformation were connected with the aging capabilities of the desktop application, preventing the attraction of new users. Systematic limitations of the old software impressed maintenance and updates; impressing more and more, it was getting harder and harder. A requirement for transitioning the existing customer base to the new solution—letting them integrate without disruption—was the principal point in this regard.
Our Solution
Yojji adopted a fully comprehensive approach to digital transformation that allowed the application to shift from a desktop platform to be available on the web and mobile, effectively creating a much more widespread users' outreach and experience. Modernization was based on the further-refined essence of current design practices that remained the product with a better look and feel. Technological sustainability was rooted in applying fresh, reliable frameworks: ReactNative, Kubernetes, Microsoft SQL, Docker, and Azure DevOps. The first step in modernizing CSI Helsinki's application was to transfer the desktop-only application to the web and mobile platforms. This greatly improved accessibility, as users can now manage their legal activities anywhere, anytime, using any device.
